Misleading Colors and Discontinued Fabrics on Website and Poor Quality Round Back Seat Pads

Not the greatest experience, but hopefully Island Coast and their potential customers can learn from it. I try not to ever complain without offering solutions, so I have provided suggestions in my review below.

Every fabric I initially chose had been discontinued. There are very few choices available. [Island Coast, please remove discontinued fabrics from your website.] I finally found two fabrics that were acceptable, and placed my order. My order took over 8 weeks to arrive and not once was I ever updated on the status of my order, although my credit card was charged up front. [Island Coast, please update your customers every few weeks.]

Although I love 5 out of 8 of the cushions I ordered, I have issues with 3. The “putty” color shown on the website looks khaki, when in reality it is almost white. Nothing like what I expected, and not a good match for my other 5 striped cushions. [Island Coast, please update your solid colors on the website so they are accurate. Potential customers, please get a swatch if you are unsure, especially with the grade A open weave solid fabrics. Swatches are $2.95. In retrospect, I would avoid the Grade A fabrics entirely.]

The fabric on the two round back seat pads is see-through, and blue and black threads left between the cushions and the fabric are clearly visible through the fabric. The sewing on the pad seams is poor quality. [Island Coast, please let the manufacturer know about the quality issue. Stop selling their products if they can’t do better. Potential customers, skip the Round Back Seat Pads product listed under Miscellaneous Cushions on the website.]

Customer Service responses are curt, but they do get back to you right away. They offered me a 75% refund (25% restocking fee) if I ship the cushions back.

The last cushions I bought from Palm Casual lasted over 20 years. These are the exact same products. They last a very long time and are worth the money. Just order darker color patterns in Grade B and you should be fine.
