Acrylic Fabrics

  • Acrylic is one of the strongest, longest-lasting fibers in the industry. It is a soft, comfortable, breathable fabric that cleans easily, and resists liquids and soiling.
  • Acrylic Print – same as above with a print on the surface of the fabric.
  • Acrylic Rib – an Acrylic blend fabric that is ribbed.
  • Acrylic Twisted Yarn – an Acrylic blend fabric that uses a weaving process that adds a texture to the feel of the fabric.

Cleaning Suggestions

Clean with a solution of warm water and mild liquid soap. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry.

For stubborn stains such as suntan lotion, a solution of 1 cup of bleach and 2 capfuls of natural soap per gallon of water can be sprayed on affected areas and allowed to soak in. Then scrub it with a sponge or soft brush and rinse thoroughly with clean water. Allow it to air dry.

Do not expose fabric to water temperatures in excess of 100 degrees.

Olefin Fabrics

Olefin fiber is a solution dyed then woven fabric that resists stains, mildew, fading and abrasions. Being solution dyed (meaning the color is put in before the yarn is formed), this ensures durability and cleanability for the fabric to perform properly. This is a yarn blend that is extremely strong. Also, can be woven into a linen type pattern.

Cleaning Suggestions

Wash with warm water and mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Avoid contact with suntan oils and lotions and clean promptly if contact occurs.

DO NOT USE BLEACH or expose fabric to water temperatures in excess of 100 degrees.

Spun Polyester Fabrics

Spun Polyester is a 100% polyester material that has a soft fabric feel. It is an easy care fabric but should be cleaned regularly to keep it looking fresh and new.

Printed Spun Poly is the same fabric that has its pattern printed on the surface. As with all printing inks (even light-fast inks), fading will occur over time. This can be prevented with the regular application of our Solar Shield® fabric protectant.

Cleaning Suggestions

Clean with 50% combination of water and mild soap or detergent. For stains, a mild solution of bleach may be used.

Do not use bleach on printed fabrics!

PVC Coated Polyester (Vinyl)

Polyester yarns are coated with colored PVC and woven into an attractive durable open mesh fabric that is stain-resistant, quick drying and allows air to flow through. Vinyls can also be a tight, dense configuration, which, when used as an umbrella, will provide almost total protection from the sun.

Vinyls have a somewhat stiff, smooth plastic feel.

Cleaning Suggestions

Wash with a mild solution of 3 parts water, 1 part bleach and a capful of detergent. Rinse completely with clear water and allow to dry in open air and sunlight.

Do not expose fabric to water temperatures in excess of 100 degrees.

Marquesa Fabrics

Marquesa® – Its polypropylene base is the by-product of petroleum production. Marquesa is a recyclable fabric.

Cleaning Suggestions

Wash with a mild soap & water solution to remove most spills and stains.
