construction and cleaning & maintenance
advice that will not only help you in your choices,
but also keep your outdoor cushions, umbrellas and slings
looking great for many years.

Maintenance |
Acrylic is one of the
strongest, longest-lasting fibers in the
industry. Initially used for awnings and boat
covers.
Acrylic Print - same
as above with a print on the surface of the
fabric. Not available in blends.
Acrylic Jacquard - an
Acrylic blend fabric with a pattern woven into
it. Not available in blends.
Acrylic Rib - an
Acrylic blend fabric that is ribbed.
Acrylic Twisted Yarn -
an Acrylic blend fabric that uses a weaving
process that adds a texture to the feel of the
fabric.

Clean with a solution of warm
water and mild soap. For stains, a solution of
1 cup of bleach and 2 capfuls of natural soap
per gallon of water. Rinse thoroughly and allow
to air dry.

Olefin is a woven fabric that
resists stains, mildew, fading and abrasions.
Solution dyed (meaning the color is put in before
the yarn is formed), this ensures durability and
cleanability for the fabric to perform properly.
This is a yarn blend that is extremely strong.
Also, can be woven into a linen type
pattern.

Wash with warm water
and mild detergent. DO NOT
USE BLEACH or expose
fabric to water temperatures in excess of 100
degrees. |
Printed Vinyl fabrics are
popular.

Clean with 50%
combination of water and mild soap or detergent.
For stains, a mild solution of bleach may be
used. |
Coated Vinyl Polyester yarns [also
known as Textilene] are fibers that
revolutionized outdoor fabric over
20 years ago. Polyester yarns are coated and
woven into an attractive durable open mesh fabric
that is stain-resistant, quick drying and allows
air to flow through. Also, can be a tight dense
configuration, which, when used as an umbrella,
will provide almost total protection from the
sun.

Wash with a mild solution of 3
parts water, 1 part bleach and a capful of
detergent. Rinse completely with clear water
and allow to dry in open air and
sunlight.
